2009 Ford Bronco

2009 Ford Bronco

Ford revives model Bronco first issued in 1966. A prototype of the compact SUV Full power was shown in Detroit back in January 2004, but then not a single word was said about the possibility of mass production.

Now say that SUV-style retro planned for release in late 2007 or early 2008. While this model, apparently, is to Americans, it should wait for the emergence and Europe. This time, the car will stand on a platform and a new generation Fiesta promises to be affordable, economical and youthful looks. It is obvious that he will not be a V8 engine, which belonged to the old Bronco.

2009 Ford Bronco will be lower than the price of $ 10,000 USA, according to the report.

If its below 10K it’ll be a scion type SUV not this beast thats in the pic, why can’t ford figure out people want the Jeep performace without it being a JEEP!!!!

Nothing will touch the old broncos. I have a 73 that puts most new trucks to shame.

Ford should stick with the classic look rather than going with a Jeep/Hummer ripoff. This doesn’t even look like a Bronco.

You guys need to put a V8 in that thing man it needs to be able to get people places and win races. It looks alright it just needs a v8

These Broncos look really nice but they need to look more like the older models like the 1978 and 1979 models. Another good suggestion would be the put the new 6.4 litre diesel with the twin turbo in it. I think if somthing like that would happen would be awsome and more people would buy them because they are diesels.

I hate my 1987 ford bronco II its the nicest looking one in my town of Devils Lake ND but there is so many engine problems.

Anyone know if they are still planning to build this ? Or when ? Can’t wait to see what they do with it could be a great hunting rig or a nice rig for a kid . They will I’m sure start simple and if sales go right they will beef it up just as they did in the 60’s and 70’s.

I own a 1993 Eddie Bauer Bronco with the 5.8 full package 3″ lift and 33″ tires. If this new Bronco is going to stand with the Old swamper Broncos. It had better be a hoss and ready to be lifted and rode hard. It looks OK but it needs some real horse power. Here in the south we love our trucks but they need to do the job right the first time.

I have been waiting for Ford to come out with an aggresive version of the bronco…I just pray that they don’t shame the Bronco name with the little excuse of a Scion Rip off…I have a 77′ and I would gladly buy the new one if they stick with the 04′ concept.

I’d love to see the Bronco come back, but this looks way too much like the International Scout! That front end resembles a Scout! You guys can do better. I do like the idea of a diesel engine, maybe a smaller one for better mileage than the 6 liter diesel! Many of us have kids, can you make a 4-door? How much and when?

The Ford Company should keep the original style, but maybe add some new to it. Like the lights you see mix it up a little bit. Also go with the new interior with the old comfort. No one want’s to buy plastic, but stick to the old fashioned metal trucks. Something a guy can go out, have a good time… say in the mud and not have to worry about spending alot on parts that break, like the plastic chevy uses on their bumpers.

For everyone saying they should keep to the original style of the Bronco I have news for you. This is the original style. Most Broncos you see look different because they are late models. This is what an early model looked like. Second this thing will probably never be as strong as the old Broncos so quit dreaming. They cant make it as strong and robust as the old Broncos and still make it affordable (especially at under 10 grand). There will never be a 4 door Bronco those are call Expeditions. However as cynical as I am with the new world of trucks I really hope I get to be surprised and Ford makes a truck worthy of going on the same trails as my 92 Bronco Custom.

March 18th, 2008 | 6:28 pm
Tyler:

Wow, isn’t this totally wrong? It’s almost April already, which means we are getting out of early 2008, and there has been 0 things saying it was ever going to be produced. Under 10K??? Even a Kia subcompact car couldn’t price that low. This is the most BS article I’ve ever read. Although, it would have been nice if Ford did produce it. It would be a kick ass competitor to the Jeep Wrangler.

it wood be cool if ford put this out i’am not a ford guy my self but I wood buy it and put it to the test $$$

Hey, gotta remember that the ford bronco is an icon to ford and should be remade but not too small nor whimpi, i think it should be at least the same size as the 1990`s were. It should have a v8 as standard and diesel as optional. The interior should be as confy and spacious as and like big broncos, and should also have a complete top off for summer fun. But at the end let`s see if is ever made.

OMG OMG OMG OMG THIS THIS… “THINGH” IS SOOOOOOOOOO UGLY IT LOOKS LIKE A TOY LOL. STICK TO THE 90s LOOK LIKE A 92 OR LATER BUT THIS IS A RIPOFF ITS NOT A BRONCO

Please!!!! make this truck with the tailgate folding down!!!!! and make sure THE!! TOP!! COMES!! OFF!!!!!! if ford does not. they will kill the legend of the best offroad truck they ever made.I grew up with this horse and i love it! please don’t mess up my memories of it and for the future BRONCO lovers.

April 6th, 2008 | 7:10 am
izzy:

This truck does look like the real BRONCOS for all the Dumb ass people that think the full size were the originals, like O.J’s. My dad said it best driving the full size is like riding a fat ass cow after driving the small early classic BRONCO’S from 1966 to 1977.They also need to function like the old ones with the windshield folding down, top coming off, tailgate folding down not sideways, ya the concept showed it opening sideways ya not good! bad bad! this truck should have all the hunting camping element’s to it. and it needs to be tuff like a chunk of IRON!! A truck that will climb a mountain.

April 6th, 2008 | 7:40 am
zach:

I don’t know what these people that don’t think this looks like a bronco are thinking have they never seen the 1960s style broncos. How ever it would be nice if they put a real frame with solid axles under this new one.

April 10th, 2008 | 3:55 am

I love this Bronco. Fabulous. Looks like a retro early 70s Bronco minus the performance. At ten grand it’s good for me. Hope Ford makes it and also makes a full size with V8 power.

tony. T:

enough on this blog already!they just need to mass produce this baby!

April 19th, 2008 | 12:54 pm
Mike R.:

This is a “Retro” idea that Ford has. Therefore, I believe they would like to stick with the styling of the ‘66 - ‘77 body style. I like that idea. You people suggesting that it look like the later version of the Bronco, well, you just don’t get the picture. I feel their prototype looks fine, for a prototype. It could use some refinement. I do agree that it needs to have some umph under the hood, at least a small block V8. The under $10,000 thing, I just don’t see it if they’re going to put a descent product out. By the way, I’ve owned an Early body-style Bronco, ‘74 model, for about ten years.

Tim C.:

I like it, but I think it should come with at least an optinal V8 of some kind and have a small diesel in it some thing like a four leter liter, and I agree that there should be a four door for an option, gut I believe that should ford make it it would appeal to the younger drivers if the roof come off, such as for the summer or spring break.that said FORD START PRODUCTION NOW!!!!!!!

I saw this concept a few years ago and can’t wait for it to come out… I will be the first in line… Now, to all the honkies who want it to have a diesel or a V8. Remember, we are in a gas crisis and the wheel base is too short to pull so a 6.4 diesel twin is way too much torque than it needs. It would be cool if it had the Triton 5.4, but lets be real. You still have a short wheel base and then add 15 MPG if your lucky. The 4.0 if the ranger and explorer would be ideal power. 207 hp now and by the time it comes out maybe more plus you’ll get 17-18 MPG. If Ford makes a 4 CYL turbo diesel, maybe cool as well. I have a 06′ Ranger 4.0 4×4, 06′F-150 5.4 4×4, and a older Mustang so I’m Ford loyal and can’t wait for the new Bronco.

June 13th, 2008 | 11:30 pm
broncoguy:

yo that is now bs. there will be a fiesta and maybe a ecosport on that platform but not a bronco. The new bronco will be based on the f-150 platform along with the new f-100 replacing the ranger. The bronco will share alot of the engine choices with the f-150 and compete with the wrangler and fj cruiser.due out 2010 or 2011 with f-100

I have a ‘96 full size Bronco w/5.8L V-8
I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world…love the the new truck and it should not matter what model year they style it after, a Bronco in the line up is good enough for me. I would like to see it be very fuel efficient, maybe offer a hybrid engine set up, or a diesel w/6 speed, don’t worry about the cost of such a set up…seen the price of gas lately? would be well worth it in the long run…maybe another 30 years like the originals. Under $10k …get real! yeah, Ford needs to make money quick, but it ain’t going to happen like that, not in this auto market… offer it with removeable top/soft top like the Jeep and all the techno gadets, maybe folding seats to allow more cargo room for the kids stuff and home depot runs and you will have a good sell.I have my deposit ready in hand now. Just make the damn thing already!!!

under 10k? if what they say is true, screw pickups, i’ll get the bronco. i had a ‘96 bronco, but had to sell it. i don’t really like the design, i think they should go back to the drawing board design wise. and make the engine smaller due to the gas prices that are ridiculous now.

the looks are good. but it needs to be a bulletproof beast like the old ones. rugged frame, v8, and solid running gear. lets face it anyone who owns or owned a bronco knows this truck will be doing some serious off roading!!!

whatthehell:

stop being stupid. it looks good, but it needs to be bigger. they didnt make a bronco for a soccer mom. they made it for mud. now do us a favor and the v8 in it. my bronco has the 5 liter in it and you cant kill the bitch. it has 207,000 miles on it and it runs like a charm to this day. a little v6 will make it stupid to have. you cant pull with a v6. you can but that leaves the statement shoulda had v8 when you get stuck. dumbasses

I have just read all the comments on this page about the new 2009 Ford Bronco. I can’t believe how many Ford Bronco drivers are so uneducated. I take it from the comments I read, the ones who said this does not resemble the original Bronco are still in diapers. If you look up on any search engine for a picture of an original Ford Bronco you will find that the 2009 Bronco is retro of the 1966 to 1977 Bronco’s which were real off road machines. As for all the ones who drive a 1978 and up you have no idea what real 4 wheel drive power is until you drive an original!

I have a 1990 bronco and i love it and wouldn’t get rid of it for anything and i’m sorry but the new bronco doesn’t even look how a bronco should a bronco isn’t suppose to be a jeep/hummer it’s suppose to just be a bronco. A bronco has it’s own look and should have a V8 in it this What the call new “BRONCO” isn’t anything like the orignal bronco it’s just a two door suv like the explorer.

2009 bronco is ugly. dont make it over again. if your going to rebuild a new one, keep it from the old days. stop making trucks look like space ships

February 27th, 2009 | 11:51 pm
Dave:

Clearly many people don’t know what the original Broncos looked like as this vehicle is certainly styled with them in mind. Late 70’s broncos and on are not the Original Bronco. Also, if it were to ever go into production it would very likely be less spaceship looking as concepts are usually toned down by the time they get around to production. With fuel and the economy in mind a small lightwieght build of the Bronco styled such as this I think would be a good bet for the offroad crowd. We’re all so accustom to trucks getting bigger and bigger and drinking tons of fuel, Americans really need to take a look at what the rest of the world is doing with Suzuki’s, Toyotas and Diahutsu’s. The original Scouts, Broncos, Landcruisers and Jeeps were all smaller for a reason. We don’t need monster trucks. Somebody really needs to come up with something that legitimately competes with the Wrangler with offroad prowess and a Convertible option. Until then all trucks will just be more SUV’s, for yuppies, soccer moms, and rap videos. If this bronco was in the vien of something like a Samurai with a little more power and size it would be a huge hit especially in the last days of the SUV dinosaurs Come on people.. know your history.

i think this is really ugly. it kind of looks more like a jeep than a bronco.they really should have stayed with old 90s look. it now looks like it can do nothing in the mudd and in the trails.

big D:

i have a 69 bronco and it is the fuckin tuffest truck i have ever driven. the new bronco looks a lot like the first one. if you think it dont then you have never seen an old school bronc. look up jeffs bronco grave yard for an original but it should have a v8. how about a 5.0
the people who think it dont look like a bronco should check out an old bronco for if not for the old bronco you would not have your new pice of shit 78-97. you shit heads should ebay (early bronco}

Thank you for contacting the Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center regarding interest in the 2004 concept Bronco mass production.

Consumer enthusiasm around our concept vehicles has been outstanding.

At this time, there are no immediate plans to include this vehicle in the current model line-up. However, your feedback is collected and used in the decision making process for future model years. We have documented your feedback which will be forwarded to the appropriate department.

I am pretty sure the desire it to produce more fuel efficient autos these days. Why you clowns continue to bark about putting a huge diesel engine with twin turbo or some giant V8 in it….I will never understand. The average consumer will not purchase a 2010 Ford Bronco, put a 10″ lift on it with 40+” tires on it. Furthermore, 85% of the consumers will never take it offroad in the first place. Marketing is about selling to the majority. Therefore, stop complaining that it will be a small V6 (or 4 cylinder) and save your cash to mod it yourself. It will be cheaper for you to mod it how you want it to be…then to pay for Ford to mass produce an offroad version. I’m sure you already know that so I will end this here.

Bid D, when did this become a “my balls are bigger than yours” blog? Your comment is boring. That would be like me putting my pink slip up to race my 2008 Ford Mustang GT with a blown 429 (with three stage nitrous) against any Mustang. Really, what is the point? Lets get back on point here.

This new Bronco will be a nice addition to the Ford inventory. I give it two thumbs up! Hopefully they offer a couple decent optional upgrades. i.e. “a 48″ 429ci fully blown” kit. LOL jk

Anyone that said it doesn’t look like a Bronco is blind. It doesn’t look like a Hummer, it looks like a new version of the old Bronco’s. Most SUVs look alike.

I own a Toyota FJ Cruiser. Would trade it in an instant if a production version Bronco were built that copied the aggressive concept styling rather than diluting the look for the masses. If it’s built sign me up.

Been with Ford all my life, I’ve owned old broncos and new, Ford built jeep for the US government now they should build a rig that out strips the jeep in every respect. Diesel, Diesel, Diesel… more power more torque. And stop making things look retro ricer boxcar. Stick with what works for Ford!

It looks like a cheap hummer h3/scion rip off. Ford needs to make it look more like the 80s to 89s models. It better have a V8 or its doesn’t deserve the Title Bronco.

Come on ford!!! You cant have a bronco and not have at less one V8 in the fleet!! Im all down for the economical part of it. And i like the new look. and the price. But no v8 is like a disgrace to all years and make of the ford bronco.
~A bronco cant buck up without it~!!!
How about making a ford raptor verison of the new bronco. Now we`re talk some mud bogging fun!!

if you are going to build this bronco do it right. a v6 with plenty of power, and a diesel engine so we can kick competitors in the butt, in the usa and overseas. like the toyota’s are doing to us now.

I grew up with a 77 sport, this truck keeps true to alot of the body curves. I’m liking that they added the rear fender flares, we did that on ours( took 2 fronts flares, flipped them and moulded into the rear, looks great)I’ve been watching for a production date, yet nothing as of yet. I don’t know if ford realizes the following this truck has.

The Bronco is dead people. Ford killed this project months ago…we get the Kuga and Ka instead. Google Kuga and send your profanity laced emails and flaming bags of poop to the proper address in Michigan.

The bronco,I guess ford can’t do it.I would like to see what chip foose design would be.I believe ford should keep it simple ,what people want is something that is durable that has real 4×4 gear shifts= no push button. They should make it with a roll bar with a top that attaches to it ,but the top should be able to come off in two piece and be stored behind the rear seat. durability from the top would also come from the roll bar.It needs a marine engine.Make the frills come from the after market items.aftermarket items can be gps replacement in dash, etc…I own a 96′last year and im not buying a new vechical until ford makes the new bronco.

Are there any up grades for this thing, like a lift kit/anything. Also are the motor mounts compatable. meanig if I were to put a motor from an F-350 or somthing. Would it fit? Or do I have to cut it up and rebuild the 2009 branco myself the right way!.But the body style is kinda nice.

January 19th, 2010 | 1:26 am
ron:

that has got to be the gayest bronco I have ever seen.make a new bronco that looks more like the 96 broncos.thats what most people want.but make the front axe a solid axle and offer a factory lift kit and bigger tires.ford can do way better than this thing.looks like a soccer mom suv to me.

Bill #89:

The Bronco is AWESOME! The 66-77 Bronco is the original style Bronco! Which is what this one is designed after. Any true Bronco lover would give anything, for them to start building these again. I would buy two myself, just to start with. Everybody that is hating on it , or talking trash about it, to me is not a true Bronco fan! I love all the different styles of Broncos, and have owned every style. But the 66-77 is the legacy behind the Bronco! To answer a post on this forum, there was a four door bronco. I think 89-95 was the year models, a company did a conversion package called Centurian! They are awesome fixed up! I just pray everyday Ford will come to there senses, and build this ICON of a truck !!!!
